A collaboration between Menswearplease and Septième Largeur, bringing together artisanal craftsmanship and a certain flair.
Jordan Maurin, better known as Menswearplease, has always had a soft spot for fine shoes. Over the years, he has learned to recognise a well-made shoe, and his passion is unmistakable whenever he talks about them. Today, he returns with a shoe of his own: the Cabestan.
Two models, three versions, made in Spain, in a limited edition.
Anchored in the maritime world from which it takes its name, the Cabestan II draws inspiration from the last of the boat shoe. With a removable fringe and a genuine cowhide tray, this style elegantly reinterprets a great classic of the men’s wardrobe in a bold, uncompromising version.
On a sailboat, every departure begins at the capstan. It weighs the anchor, and it is around it that the crew gathers. You never weigh the anchor alone; the name perfectly embodies this pair, born from a collaboration between two.

Jordan wanted an everyday pair, inspired by the loafer he holds particularly dear, but with that little extra he calls his touch of flair: a fringe that can be worn with confidence or removed when the mood strikes, paired with a Commando sole.
The ideas are his; the craftsmanship is the Maison’s.

@Menswearplease
It was with Mathieu and Septième Largeur that I learned what a fine shoe really was. I worked as a salesman at the Saint-Lazare store for nearly two years. Today, I’m delighted to revive our collaboration.
I expect my everyday clothes to be practical, durable, beautiful, and to have a touch of flair. That is exactly what I wanted to create with these three models.
The starting point is a boat shoe, which itself evolved from the loafer, for which I have a great affection. But this boat shoe is set on a Commando sole: the most practical choice in all weather conditions.
The removable fringe on the Cabestan I is the touch of flair I mentioned. As for the colours, I didn’t have to look far: black and burgundy are the colours I wear most.
As for the Cabestan II, with its cowhide tray and combination of leathers, I wanted to offer an even more original style, to remind you that you should always have fun with your appearance.
