Thus, for the past 16 years, the Maison has pursued the ambition of making high-end men’s footwear accessible to as many people as possible. Over the years, it has continuously refined its mastery of leather coloring. Also known as "Patina", this technique elegantly imitates the passage of time, which remains today the best guarantee of a well-crafted shoe.
La Maison Septième Largeur is now led by its founder, Mathieu Preiss. Founded in 2009 as a family venture, it was built on a solid foundation: respect for artisanal craftsmanship, a culture of detail, and an unwavering commitment to quality. Today, Mathieu brings a contemporary vision while ensuring that this essential heritage is carefully preserved.
Sensitive to art and exceptional pieces, he very early on developed the desire to give his shoes unique, vibrant, and deep colors. He then devoted himself tirelessly to mastering the subtle art of patina, before presenting his first creations as a collection in a Parisian showroom, in the 10th arrondissement. A discreet space conceived as a laboratory, where craftsmanship, expert advice, and a passion for the product come together.
From a name, a story written to the rhythm of time
The story continued naturally with the opening of a first boutique in Paris, in the 9th arrondissement. Then came the 6th: another Rive, a different clientele, the same exacting standards. Septième Largeur thus strengthened its Parisian roots while laying the foundations for a Maison with an international outlook.
The adventure extended abroad with the opening of a boutique in Taipei, followed by Geneva, reflecting a growing appreciation for a sincere, understated, and lasting elegance well beyond French borders.
At the same time, the Maison developed a strong digital presence, convinced that craftsmanship and expert guidance can also be expressed online, without compromise. Today, Septième Largeur serves an international clientele, both in-store and remotely, always guided by the same promise.
The shoes are crafted in Spain, in workshops renowned for the quality of their work, using exacting construction methods. The leathers, carefully selected, come from European tanneries chosen for their excellence, consistency, and the distinctive character of their hides.
Despite its growth, the Maison has never strayed from its mission: to contribute to the elegance of this world by creating exceptional shoes within everyone’s reach.

Today, more than just a technique, it represents all the moments of creation that we wish to share with you. From artisan to artisan-creator, there is only one step and we take it.
