Artisanal craftsmanship

GOODYEAR WELT

This construction method is used on the majority of our collection because it's one of the most versatile, being both sturdy, elegant, and easy to maintain. It involves a welt seam made industrially, meaning with the assistance of a machine, the Goodyear machine named after its inventor.

This seam consists of two distinct stitches: the Goodyear stitch on the inside, which you cannot see; and the small stitch visible on the shoe. These two stitches are connected by a strip of leather called the welt. This is the key element of this construction. In addition to ensuring greater waterproofing and resistance, it allows for the sole to be redone, and therefore greater durability.

DOUBLE NEEDLE PINCH STITCHING

On the black pebble grain version, the double needle pinch stitching on the vamp is entirely handcrafted. This technical feat, still performed by the strength of arms, makes these shoes a craftsmanship gem. This method is becoming extremely rare, and we are proud to offer it to you today. With the charm and allure of irregularity, each shoe reveals its personality.

THE SOLE

The two bicolor versions naturally feature a 100% leather sole, with an open engraving for added finesse. It provides these penny loafers with greater flexibility over wear, which can be accompanied by a sole protector and embedded toe taps, ensuring greater longevity. The heel, on the other hand, comes with a top piece made of natural rubber for added cushioning and grip..

On its grained version, we’ve chosen a 100% natural rubber sole from the Dainite Manufacture. Renowned for its durability, it combines waterproofing, comfort, and ease of maintenance while preserving the elegance of the loafer. Note the detail of the design of the famous English sole, which is crafted in such a way that gravel and other impurities cannot get trapped in it.

BICOLOR version

Dressed in an elegant springtime elegance, the Nicodème comes in two bicolor versions. The canvas upper echoes Hast's collections and textile expertise. The rest of the upper features Bergeronnette box calf from the French tannery of Le Puy, or a deep and elegant british green leather from the Italian tannery Fortezza.

These full-grain calf leathers have the advantage of being durable while maintaining a dressed appearance, with the option of glazing them.

grained version

More classic, the third model of this collaboration features a black pebble grain from the German tannery Kluempen, dyed throughout. Its supple grain provides better resistance to weather and scratches while offering a lovely texture.
